Energy Saving Tips for Each Room of Your Home |
Absolutely! Homeowners participating in 401(e) are not required to have their home energy improvements performed by 401(e). Homeowners may select a contractor of their choosing. However, it should be noted that most rebates require the work to be performed by a licensed contractor. Of course, every situation is unique. However, the average job cost range is: $2,000 – 15,000. The home energy improvements we offer have numerous advantages: increase the comfort of your home, save money on your energy bills, increase indoor air quality, and solve issues such as cold rooms, drafts and ice dams, and more! 401(e) is sponsored by Red River Valley Community Action (RRVCA). RRVCA has been doing home energy improvements in the Grand Forks area for over 35 years. We have built relationships with trustworthy contractors in every trade including plumbing, heating and cooling. Plus, our own experienced technicians can perform many of the recommended improvements. RRVCA’s experienced technicians are trained in the latest building science techniques and use cutting-edge equipment. RRVCA invests proceeds from our home improvement business back into our human service programs. These programs are designed to provide people in our community. Credentials: most of our technicians have at least 5 yrs experience, some with over 30. We are Xcel Energy certified energy audit contractor, Building Performance Institute-certified and a Home Performance with Energy Star partner contractor. Can I have contractors of my choosing do the work?
